GE Technical Storeman Job Description
The GE Technical Storeman is responsible for receiving, issuing, storing and maintaining tools, equipment and construction materials. The role requires accurate stock identification, auditable record keeping, stock checks, stock rotation and preparation of manual and electronic reports.
The successful candidate will handle tools, materials, lifting equipment and machinery safely while supporting procurement and distribution activities. Key Responsibilities: Storeman Jobs in Nanyuki
- Procure, issue and distribute materials, products, parts and supplies based on authorised requisitions.

- Receive supplier deliveries and verify quantities, condition and completeness against orders.
- Organise the return of faulty or damaged goods to suppliers.
- Determine appropriate storage methods, identification procedures and stock rotation based on turnover and facility capacity.

- Inspect tools and equipment returned by tradesmen and record their serviceability.
- Operate Prom PCT for accounting of infrastructure stores and escort suppliers or contractors visiting the GE Department.
Required Qualifications: Supply Chain Jobs in Kenya
- Hold a recognised certificate in supply chain management.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate a firm understanding of stock rotation and storage methods.
- Use computers to acquire stores online and maintain accounts.
- Have good working knowledge of local suppliers, basic prices and delivery costs or timelines.
- Demonstrate familiarity with MS Word and MS Excel for accounting purposes.
- Hold a clean and valid Kenyan driving licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a valid MHE or Industrial Forklift Licence.
- Have completed Manual Handling Training.
- Have previous experience running or maintaining a medium-sized storage facility.
Training and Work Requirements
- Training in specialist computer and departmental software accounting applications.
- Health and Safety at Work and COSHH awareness training.
- Equipment care, including use and maintenance.
