About Bandari Maritime Academy

Bandari Maritime Academy was established through Legal Notice No. 233 of 28th November 2018, with the mandate to develop academic and vocational skills and provide competent maritime human resources for a sustainable Blue Economy.

About the Role

The Senior Supply Chain Management Officer will support the Academy’s procurement and supply chain operations, from planning and tender processes to supplier sourcing, stores management and inventory control. The position also requires preparation of procurement and supply chain reports in accordance with established regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare inventory and store control procurement plans.
• Assist in preparing annual procurement plans.
• Participate in the preparation, advertisement, opening and evaluation of tenders and disposal processes.
• Prepare procurement management reports.
• Conduct stocktaking.
• Prepare Local Purchase Orders and Local Service Orders (LPOs/LSOs).
• Undertake market surveys and research.
• Source for suppliers.
• Carry out the receipt, storage, inspection and issuance of stores.
• Manage inventory and assets and initiate stock replenishment requisitions.
• Verify, ration and advise on the rationing of stores where demand exceeds supply.
• Prepare periodic supply chain management reports.
• Carry out inventory and stock control in accordance with established regulations and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supplies Management, Business Administration with a Supply Chain Management option, Commerce with a Supplies Management option, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Cumulative experience of three years in relevant work at the grade of Supply Chain Management Officer I or in a comparable position.
• Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or another recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.

Benefits and Compensation

The position offers a basic salary of Kshs. 71,500 – Kshs. 141,500 per month, a house allowance of Kshs. 20,000, commuter allowance of Kshs. 14,000 and leave allowance of Kshs. 6,000. The position is offered on Permanent and Pensionable terms.
