Systems Software Analyst

Farmer’s Choice Limited is seeking a proactive Systems Software Analyst to join its IT Department. Reporting to the Software Manager, the role will bridge business needs and the Software section by gathering functional requirements, supporting business applications, coordinating testing and deployment, managing user support, and promoting effective use of ERP and Microsoft 365 tools.

About the Role

The Systems Software Analyst will support the connection between business requirements and software solutions across the organisation. The position will contribute to business application implementation, user acceptance testing, system support, software deployment, helpdesk operations and user adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements and Systems Analysis

• Gather and document business requirements, process flows and functional specifications.
• Validate requirements and translate approved business needs into clear work items and acceptance criteria.
• Perform limited functional data analysis, mapping, validation and documentation.
• Support the effective translation of business requirements into software-related activities.

ERP and Business Applications

• Support ERP and business system implementations, configuration, user acceptance testing and go-live activities.
• Coordinate system testing, defect tracking, release support and user documentation.
• Monitor system health, support system improvements and assist with business continuity testing.
• Drive the rollout and adoption of ERP and Microsoft 365 tools through user support and training.

User and Helpdesk Support

• Manage helpdesk support and provide first- and second-line application support.
• Assist users in resolving application-related issues and support effective use of business systems.
• Support software installation, upgrades, version control and licence records.

Security and Compliance

• Support security controls and user access management.
• Assist with audit follow-up relating to systems and software.
• Apply sound judgement when handling security, access control and confidential information.

Key Competencies

• Strong requirements gathering, business writing and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ERP and business applications and Microsoft 365 tools.
• Basic SQL knowledge for querying and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and disciplined documentation.
• Sound judgement regarding security, access control and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet service levels and work independently.
• Professional teamwork, problem-solving and continuous learning mindset.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in application support, systems analysis or ERP end-user support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools.
• Basic SQL knowledge for querying and reporting is desirable.
• Exposure to ERP environments, user acceptance testing and helpdesk operations is an added advantage.
