Constituency Monitor Job Description – Constituency Monitor vacancy in Kenya
The Constituency Monitor will monitor political party activities at constituency level and report findings to the County Monitor. The role supports compliance with applicable laws and promotes peaceful, lawful, and transparent electoral processes before, during, and after elections.
The successful candidate will work closely with political parties, candidates, government agencies, and ORPP field teams to identify compliance issues and provide accurate reports on campaigns, elections, petitions, and other relevant political activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor political party compliance with the Constitution, Political Parties Act, and Code of Conduct.
- Liaise with relevant government agencies on implementation of the Code of Conduct for Political Parties.
- Report findings arising during political campaigns and elections to the County Monitor.
- Document relevant issues arising from election petitions and other constituency-level activities.
- Sensitize political parties and candidates on applicable laws and the Code of Conduct.
- Prepare reports covering pre-election, election, and post-election political party activities.
- Maintain accurate records of monitoring activities and observations within the assigned constituency.
- Escalate significant compliance concerns to the County Monitor for appropriate action.
Required Qualifications – Political Science careers in Kenya
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Education, Political Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer Applications.
- Kenyan citizenship.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess information objectively.
- Demonstrated competence in report writing and documentation.
- Willingness to work anywhere within Kenya as required by the organization.
