About the Role

The Grant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will oversee the day-to-day coordination of MEAL processes for the Kenya Big Dream Phase III program. The position will support program planning and implementation while coordinating data collection, monitoring activities, assessments, reporting, accountability mechanisms, research, learning, and knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of monitoring frameworks, M&E plans, log frames, indicators, targets, and implementation plans.
  • Support strategic and multi-year program planning, designs, budgets, and MEL work breakdown structures.
  • Develop and support data collection, analysis, reporting, output and outcome tracking tools and guidelines.
  • Coordinate MEAL activities, annual calendars, capacity building, orientations, and technical support for project staff and implementing partners.
  • Coordinate routine monitoring and technical field monitoring visits and ensure timely analysis and dissemination of monitoring information.
  • Support digital data collection, beneficiary tracking systems, databases, MIS requirements, and secure data management.
  • Coordinate program management reports and mandatory monitoring reports in line with World Vision standards and donor requirements.
  • Establish and support accountability mechanisms, including information sharing, complaints management, community feedback, and response mechanisms.
  • Support evaluations, assessments, research, learning agendas, knowledge management, and documentation of good practices and lessons learned.
  • Network with partners and represent World Vision in Technical Working Group Meetings relating to the KBD program.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics/Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Statistics, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Practical experience coordinating or implementing M&E systems within a large international NGO or international relief/development organization.
  • Experience working on donor-funded and multilateral donor-funded programs.
  • Experience with data collection using Open Data Kit (ODK) and other mobile-based applications.
  • Experience using data and statistical programs such as SPSS or Stata.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research, analytical, documentation, report-writing, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong communication, networking, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to manage resources efficiently and effectively, document good practices and lessons learned, and write effective funding proposals.
  • Committed Christian able to provide spiritual leadership, including daily devotions, while working above denominational and cultural diversity challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation and conducting assessments or equivalent.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating child protection programs.
  • Experience in social norms and/or social behaviour change research.
  • Skills in mobile data collection and management software such as ODK and Kobo.
  • Understanding of current developments, research, and trends related to child protection.
