Director, Research, Electoral Boundaries and Risk Management Job Description – Research Leadership Jobs in Kenya
The Director provides strategic leadership for research, electoral boundaries management, institutional strategy, and enterprise risk management across the Commission. The role oversees research programmes, electoral boundary projects, geospatial information management, policy development, organizational planning, and risk governance to support informed decision-making and sustainable electoral reforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement research, electoral boundaries, and risk management strategies aligned with the Commission’s strategic objectives.
- Lead research programmes, opinion polls, surveys, and electoral studies to support policy development and electoral reforms.
- Provide strategic advice on electoral programming, representation, voter registration, gender inclusion, and sustainable development initiatives.
- Oversee electoral boundaries projects, mapping information systems, geodatabases, and related technical activities.

- Manage research partnerships, service providers, and Directorate resources while strengthening organizational capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geospatial Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Urban and Regional Planning, Social Sciences, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in Project Management, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Urban Development, Risk Management, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ cumulative professional experience, including at least three (3) years at senior management level.
- Demonstrated success coordinating strategy development, policy implementation, and large-scale social or development research programmes.
- Strong expertise in research, planning, electoral boundaries, and organizational risk management supporting risk management jobs Kenya.
- Certificate in Computer Applications, a leadership and management course lasting at least two weeks, and compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
