Manager, Property Management Job Description

The Manager, Property Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all property-related activities, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks, and optimizing the Fund’s real estate portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, Finance & Investment, this position ensures that properties are managed efficiently, maintained at the highest standards, and aligned with organizational objectives.

The position focuses on policy formulation, property valuations, vendor management, and proactive maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policy guidelines for effective management of the Fund’s properties.
  • Ensure timely payment of statutory fees, service providers, and adherence to legislative frameworks.
  • Review professional property valuation reports, conduct market surveys, and provide strategic advice.
  • Develop and enforce property management standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare selection criteria and bid documents for property management and service providers.
  • Conduct briefings for property management agents on targets, rental levels, and maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure accurate valuation of properties and submission of necessary documentation to relevant authorities.
  • Analyze valuation reports and implement actionable recommendations for asset optimization.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure properties are maintained at high habitable standards.
  • Manage acquisition and effective utilization of office spaces.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Construction, Planning, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s Degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Construction, Planning, or related field.
  • Completion of a recognized leadership or management course.
  • Professional qualification in Real Estate, Land Economics, Planning, Property Management, or a related field.
  • Membership in a relevant accredited professional body in good standing.
  • Minimum cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years, including three (3) years at Assistant Manager, Property Management or equivalent level.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and property management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large property portfolios or real estate projects within public or private sector organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of property valuation, facilities management, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor contracts, optimize property performance, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and engaging internal and external stakeholders effectively.
