About the Role
The Senior Driver will provide safe and timely transportation of authorized passengers and goods while ensuring the proper maintenance and security of Commission vehicles. The role also involves supporting official logistics, vehicle administration and the collection and delivery of official mail and parcels.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Commission vehicles as authorized for staff transportation and activity logistics.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and maintain the cleanliness of assigned vehicles.
- Identify and promptly report mechanical malfunctions and vehicle system failures.
- Coordinate vehicle repairs in liaison with the Supply Chain and Administration Office.
- Maintain accurate work tickets and adhere to travel and delivery schedules.
- Ensure the safety and security of vehicles, passengers and goods at all times.
- Manage vehicle safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and first aid kits.
- Check the validity of vehicle insurance and inspection stickers.
- Account for vehicle-related expenses, including fuel card and cash allocations.
- Collect and deliver official mail and parcels while observing applicable transport requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of D+.
- Must have at least three years of relevant work experience.
- Must hold a valid driving licence covering Classes B, C1 and D2, free from current endorsements.
- Must have Occupational Trade Test I & II.
- Must hold a Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Must have a First Aid Certificate from a one-week course.
- Must have completed a refresher course for drivers within the last three years.
- Must comply with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Required Clearance Certificates

- Directorate of Criminal Investigations: Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Higher Education Loans Board: Compliance Certificate, where applicable.
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission: Self-Declaration Form.
- Credit Reference Bureau: Certificate of Clearance or Credit Report.
