Driver

The National Biosafety Authority (NBA) is seeking a Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation of Board personnel and goods under a short-term contract. The Driver will operate and maintain assigned vehicles, monitor service and insurance schedules, maintain movement records and ensure compliance with traffic laws and organizational policies.

About the Role

The Driver will be responsible for transporting Board personnel and goods safely from source to destination as instructed. The role also involves basic vehicle monitoring, documentation, cleanliness, incident reporting and adherence to applicable traffic requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe transportation of Board personnel and goods from source to destination as instructed.
• Detect and report malfunctioning vehicle systems.
• Maintain records of vehicle movements using the Work Ticket.
• Monitor and report vehicle service and insurance schedules.
• Ensure that the assigned vehicle is kept clean.
• Report incidents and accidents as soon as they occur in accordance with organizational policy.
• Ensure adherence to and observance of applicable traffic laws.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least KCSE grade D+ or equivalent qualification.
• Must have passed the Occupational Test III for drivers.
• At least four years of active driving experience with Class B, C and E driving qualifications.
• Valid driving licence.
• Craft Certificate.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Adequate knowledge of the Highway Code.
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
