About the Clerical Officer II Role

Uasin Gishu County Government is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Clerical Officer II to join their Public Service Management team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong administrative skills to contribute to efficient office operations within the county government. Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Clerical Officer II will be entrusted with a variety of important administrative duties that contribute to the smooth functioning of county government offices:

Financial Administration

  • Prepare estimates of expenditure on general office services
  • Ensure safe custody of invoices, receipts and other financial records
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates
  • Assist in tracking departmental expenditures

Records Management

  • Prepare and maintain records for departmental activities
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the filing system
  • Organize and categorize documents for easy retrieval
  • Verify compiled statistical records for accuracy

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare and submit monthly reports
  • Compile data for departmental reporting needs
  • Assist in preparing correspondence and official documents
  • Support information flow between departments

Office Management

  • Assist in planning office accommodation and layout
  • Support the coordination of office logistics
  • Help maintain office equipment and supplies inventory
  • Contribute to improving office efficiency

Qualification Requirements

Uasin Gishu County Government is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

Educational Background

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C Plain or its approved equivalent

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures and record-keeping
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets and databases
  • Good typing and document formatting skills

Personal Attributes

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of official information

Employment Terms and Compensation

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 20,560.00 – 26,460.00 p.m (CPSB 13)
  • House Allowance: Ksh. 3,730.00 per month
  • Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 3,000.00 per month
  • Additional allowances as per SRC Circulars

Contract Terms

  • Three (3) years contract, renewable based on performance
