General Manager Jobs in Kenya

The General Manager – Enterprise Clubs & Strategic Growth Networks will lead the development and implementation of a relationship-driven platform designed to accelerate the growth of high-potential MSMEs and SMEs. The successful candidate will oversee enterprise clubs, executive leadership programmes, strategic partnerships, investment readiness initiatives, and business ecosystem development to enhance enterprise competitiveness and sustainable growth.

The role requires strategic leadership in enterprise development, stakeholder engagement, program management, business networking, and financial inclusion while collaborating with internal business units and external partners to expand opportunities for entrepreneurs across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Enterprise Clubs strategy aligned with the Enterprise Development & Financial Inclusion Pillar and the Group’s inclusive growth agenda.
  • Lead the establishment, growth, and expansion of Enterprise Clubs supporting mature MSMEs and SMEs.
  • Design mentorship-driven, peer-learning, and membership-based enterprise development programmes.
  • Oversee executive leadership forums, enterprise capability development programmes, and business retreats.
  • Strengthen enterprise ecosystems through strategic partnerships, market linkages, and value chain integration.
  • Develop investment readiness programmes and facilitate access to strategic finance and capital for high-value enterprises.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and partnership development with corporates, investors, financial institutions, and development partners.
  • Mobilize financial, technical, and strategic resources to support enterprise development initiatives.
  • Manage programme planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and operational performance.
  • Oversee hybrid programme delivery through digital, physical, and membership-based engagement platforms.
  • Build, coach, mentor, and lead a high-performing enterprise development team.
  • Prepare programme performance reports, success stories, impact assessments, and executive updates.
  • Collaborate with Monitoring & Evaluation teams to improve programme effectiveness and organizational learning.
  • Promote business leadership, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and sustainable enterprise growth across the region.
  • Support innovation initiatives that strengthen enterprise competitiveness and long-term economic resilience.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Enterprise Development & Financial Inclusion Pillar Lead.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business, Development Studies, Development Finance, Economics, Strategy, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in enterprise development, entrepreneurship support, SME banking, business leadership, investment promotion, insurance, or enterprise support ecosystems.
  • Proven experience managing business clubs, SME leadership programmes, membership networks, or enterprise development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of MSME development, financial inclusion, private sector growth, and enterprise ecosystems.
  • Experience working with corporates, investors, financial institutions, development partners, business associations, and value chain stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, programme management, and enterprise growth.

Preferred Qualifications
