About the Role
The Officer, Enterprise Applications Support provides technical assistance for business-critical systems and the supporting network infrastructure. The position is responsible for troubleshooting faults, monitoring ICT resources, supporting application and infrastructure rollouts, maintaining technical documentation, and coordinating issue resolution with relevant stakeholders.
The role also supports network security and compliance through firewall administration, VPN management, security risk assessment, audit finding closure, and implementation of network security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for the configuration, performance, and deployment of ICT network systems and business support services.
- Monitor ICT resources and diagnose and resolve network infrastructure, software, and hardware faults.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems affecting users and banking operations.
- Document ICT infrastructure and maintain the associated inventory.
- Develop and maintain procedural documentation and instructions for network fault resolution and system setup.
- Support the rollout of new applications and provide technical assistance to users.
- Provide day-to-day administration and monitoring of network use and offer technical support to computer users.
- Maintain specifications and documentation for core IT and IT security infrastructure.
- Support the setup of new branches by installing, configuring, and supporting newly deployed network equipment.
- Liaise with the IT Network Manager on technical issues affecting operations and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Support the design and implementation of network solutions and improvements to the resilience of the existing environment.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot outages, schedule upgrades, and support network optimization.
- Conduct data network fault investigations across local and wide area environments.
- Support network security by implementing access policies and monitoring network access.
- Support and administer firewall environments in line with the Bank’s IT Security policy.
- Upgrade data network equipment to stable firmware releases and provide remote support to engineers and end users during installations.
- Manage capacity and conduct audits of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres.
- Support Next-Generation Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Secure Web Gateways, VPNs, and secure partner connections.
- Assess network security risks, recommend appropriate measures, and support closure of network infrastructure audit findings.
- Train users and branch ICT contacts on basic network configurations and VOIP telephony issues where required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional technical qualification such as CCNA.
- Professional technical qualification such as Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA).
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in IT networking and infrastructure.
- Advanced understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VLANs for large-scale, complex, and high-availability LAN/WAN infrastructures.
- Knowledge of network technologies including SD-Access and SD-WAN.
- Experience configuring and maintaining firewall appliances such as Check Point and Cisco FTD and VPN solutions.
- Experience with Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Network Access Control (NAC), RADIUS, and TACACS+.
- Experience with IP Telephony and Unified Communications systems.
Network Security & Compliance
The role supports the implementation and administration of network security technologies, including Next-Generation Firewalls, Secure Web Gateways, Intrusion Prevention Systems, VPN solutions, and secure partner connections. It also contributes to network security risk assessments, access control, compliance requirements, and closure of audit findings.
