Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Testing Lead, the role executes test plans, develops test cases, manages defects, and verifies that technology solutions and system changes meet defined quality standards before production deployment.

About the Role
The Quality Assurance & Testing Officer contributes to the delivery of reliable banking technology solutions by applying structured testing methodologies across the software development lifecycle. The position is responsible for test case development, test execution, defect management, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, regression testing, release testing, and testing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data based on business requirements, functional specifications, and system design documents.
- Ensure test cases provide adequate coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Maintain test case repositories and ensure testing documentation remains version-controlled and up to date.
- Review test cases with the QA & Testing Lead and Business Analysts to confirm alignment with requirements.
- Execute test cases across functional, regression, integration, and system testing phases.
- Log, track, and report defects accurately in the defect management system, including clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Retest resolved defects to verify that fixes are effective and do not introduce new issues.
- Prepare daily and weekly test execution and defect status reports for the QA & Testing Lead.
- Escalate critical and high-severity defects promptly to the QA & Testing Lead.
- Assist with UAT test environments, test data, and user guidance materials.
- Support business unit testers during UAT execution and provide guidance on defect logging procedures.
- Track UAT defects and escalate blockers to the QA & Testing Lead.
- Assist in compiling UAT completion reports and sign-off documentation.
- Execute regression test suites for system changes and software releases to confirm existing functionality is not affected.
- Participate in release readiness assessments and contribute to go/no-go decision inputs.
- Support the automation of regression test scripts under the guidance of the QA & Testing Lead.
- Maintain accurate testing documentation in line with the Bank’s standards.
- Participate in testing retrospectives, process improvement initiatives, knowledge-sharing sessions, and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases for technology projects.
- Exposure to defect management processes and tools.
- Experience applying structured testing methodologies across technology projects.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification is required or a strong added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation certification is an added advantage.
- Experience in a banking or financial services environment is an added advantage.
