About the Role

The Petroleum Economic Analyst II position is an entry and training grade for the cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer while supporting economic analysis and monitoring activities related to petroleum products, projects and programmes.

The role involves managing petroleum consumption data, analyzing information on petroleum projects and programmes, forecasting market trends and supporting the monitoring of petroleum supply chains and strategic stocks.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect data on the consumption of refined petroleum products.
• Compile refined petroleum products consumption data for relevant analysis.
• Update data relating to refined petroleum products consumption.
• Analyze data on petroleum projects and programmes.
• Forecast market trends for crude oil, gas and refined petroleum products.
• Participate in monitoring petroleum supply chains.
• Support the monitoring of strategic petroleum stocks.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines from a university recognized in Kenya: Economics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Statistics, Petroleum Economics, Quantitative Economics, Public Policy Economics, or Statistics.
