About the Role

Reporting to the Returning Officer, the Support Electoral Trainer will assist with planning and delivering electoral training at different levels. The position involves supporting training sessions, supervising personnel, managing training materials, implementing IEBC training plans and compiling electoral training reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in training Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers and Clerks on polling, counting and tallying processes.
• Assist in preparing training venues and the necessary training materials.
• Perform the duties of a Presiding Officer or Deputy Presiding Officer as assigned by the Returning Officer.
• Supervise individuals engaged in the training of Clerks and other election officials at lower-level clusters.
• Assist the Returning Officer in conducting all forms of electoral training.
• Compile electoral training reports as directed by the Returning Officer.
• Implement electoral training plans developed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
• Collect and ensure the security of all election training materials.
• Distribute electoral training materials at cascaded levels.

Requirements for Appointment

• Must be a Kenyan citizen of high integrity and be non-partisan.
• Must hold a Degree or Diploma certificate from a recognized institution.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must have proven and demonstrated training skills.
• Must have the ability to manage people.
• Must be available for the entire period of the exercise.
• Must be a resident of the County Assembly Ward.

Wages

Support Electoral Trainers will be paid Kshs. 2,000 per day.
