The State Department for Labour and Skills Development, through the Public Service Commission, is seeking qualified candidates for two Principal Labour Migration Officer positions. About the Role

The Principal Labour Migration Officer will support the management and implementation of labour migration policies and programmes. The position involves collecting and analysing labour migration data, monitoring migration trends and developing programmes that support the integration and protection of migrant workers.

The officer will also undertake research, promote fundamental principles and rights at work for migrant workers, support safe and orderly migration, and handle complaints raised by migrant workers or their next of kin.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and maintain up-to-date data on labour migration and migrant workers.
• Implement National Labour Migration Management Policies and related programmes.
• Develop programmes aimed at supporting the integration of migrant workers.
• Conduct research and disseminate information on labour migration management.
• Promote fundamental principles and rights at work for migrant workers.
• Monitor labour immigration and migration trends and related issues.
• Monitor the management and promotion of safe and orderly migration.
• Handle complaints from migrant workers and their next of kin.

Required Qualifications

• Must have served in the grade of Senior Labour Migration Officer for a minimum of three (3) years or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service.
• A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution: Human Resource Management and Development, Law, Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Statistics, Labour Relations or Industrial Relations.
• A Certificate in Computer Applications Skills from a recognized institution.
• Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
