Managing Director & CEO Job Description
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director and CEO will provide strategic and visionary leadership while assuming overall operational responsibility for implementing Board-approved business plans. The position will drive achievement of the Company’s mandate, vision, mission, strategic objectives, and long-term sustainability.
The CEO will oversee organizational performance, financial management, investments, governance, risk management, stakeholder relationships, innovation, and organizational transformation. The role requires an experienced executive capable of balancing commercial performance with public-sector accountability and national energy priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the accounting and authorized officer of the Company.
- Provide strategic leadership and overall executive management to achieve the Company’s vision, mission, and long-term objectives.
- Lead development and execution of corporate strategies, annual business plans, policies, budgets, and performance targets.
- Direct daily operations and optimize financial, human, technological, and physical resources.
- Advise the Board through strategic proposals, budgets, policies, investment plans, and performance reports.
- Implement Board resolutions while maintaining strong corporate governance and accountability.
- Lead enterprise risk management, internal controls, business continuity, compliance, and ethical governance.
- Oversee financial performance, capital investments, resource allocation, sustainable growth, and shareholder value.
- Drive innovation, digitalization, organizational transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Build strategic relationships with government, regulators, shareholders, investors, customers, development partners, and industry stakeholders.
Required Qualifications – Executive Management jobs in Kenya
- Hold a degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya.
- Have at least 10 years of relevant professional work experience.
- Have served in a senior management position for at least five years.
- Demonstrate strong strategic leadership, organizational management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Possess experience in corporate strategy, financial oversight, governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead organizational transformation, innovation, and performance improvement.
