Nurse Job Description

The Nurse will be responsible for delivering patient care including triage, registering patients, and administering medications, injections, and treatments according to nursing standards. This role ensures that child welfare, antenatal, post-natal, family planning, and immunization schedules are consistently updated in line with Ministry of Health guidelines.

The Nurse will provide empathetic, psychological, and emotional support to patients, while adhering to legal, regulatory, and institutional guidelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Refer patients appropriately per Ministry of Health guidelines and participate in professional development initiatives.
  • Coordinate reporting, ordering of supplies, and quality improvement activities in line with institutional standards.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc. Nursing or Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Nursing with at least 2 years’ hands-on clinical experience.
  • Valid registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Certification in additional health training such as BLS, ACLS, Anesthesia, Health Management, Public Health, or related fields.
  • Basic digital competence for patient records management, reporting, and communication.
  • Committed Christian with high moral and ethical standing aligned to the University’s values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in busy hospital or clinical settings within academic institutions.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data management systems and electronic patient recordkeeping.
  • Familiarity with Ministry of Health protocols for preventive care and infection control.
