The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education, has announced 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5. Successful candidates will be deployed to schools at Sub-County level to gain practical skills and support virtual learning and other digital platforms.

About the Digital Literacy Programme Internship
The Digital Literacy Programme internship provides graduates with an opportunity to develop practical experience in education technology, digital learning and ICT support within schools. Interns will play a role in supporting the use of digital literacy devices, virtual learning platforms and technology-enabled teaching.
The programme also provides exposure to e-learning, digital content development, ICT infrastructure, technology support and the integration of ICT into teaching, learning and assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated not earlier than 2022.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education with specialization in Information Communication Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security and project management.
- Ability to integrate ICT with education, particularly in e-learning and content development.
- Skills to conduct research and innovation activities supporting the Digital Literacy Programme.
- Willingness to be deployed to any Sub-County Education Office on a full-time basis.
- Must not have benefited from a similar programme.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities
- Support e-learning and content development in line with the relevant schemes of work.
- Provide class support and train primary school teachers in the use of digital literacy devices.
- Support implementation of the Digital Learning Programme.
- Carry out innovations that enable schools to improve their use of digital learning.
- Provide support on the safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning.
- Assist teachers by integrating ICT into the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Support staff with the development and production of key school policies and procedures.
- Provide first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in schools.
Duration and Stipend
The Digital Literacy Programme internship will run for twelve (12) months and is non-renewable. Interns will receive a stipend from the State Department for Basic Education at a rate determined by the Government.
Certificate
Interns who successfully complete the Digital Literacy Programme internship will be awarded a certificate by the State Department for Basic Education.
