About the Role

The Communications Officer will strengthen the Communications and Public Engagement team through professional multimedia production. The position covers graphic design, video production and photography, with a focus on producing brand-compliant content for programme documentation, donor reporting, fundraising initiatives, stakeholder engagement and public campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design

• Design capacity statements, county and programme profiles, project briefs, annual reports, strategy summaries, presentation templates, social media graphics and infographics.
• Translate programme data and evidence into clear infographics and data visualisations in collaboration with programme and impact teams.
• Prepare print-ready materials with appropriate bleed, CMYK settings and resolution, as well as optimised digital assets for campaigns and events.
• Create and maintain branded templates in PowerPoint, Word and Canva to support consistent production of recurring communications materials.
• Ensure all visual designs comply with World Vision Kenya and World Vision International brand guidelines.

Videography and Video Production

• Plan, shoot and edit videos for programme documentation, donor reporting, events, campaigns and Vision Pulse.
• Produce finished videos with captions, licensed music, colour grading and clean sound mixes suited to YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X.
• Conduct field shoots across World Vision Kenya’s 33 counties while observing child safeguarding and consent standards.
• Organise and archive video footage in accordance with World Vision Kenya records management standards.

Photography and Other Duties

• Capture high-quality photographs during field visits, events, donor engagements and emergency response activities.
• Edit and colour-correct photographs using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for print and digital applications.
• Maintain the photo library with captions, metadata and tagging for efficient retrieval by the Communications team.
• Participate in creative planning and deliver assigned communications projects within agreed timelines.
• Attend and participate in daily and weekly chapel and devotional meetings, and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or designee.

Required Qualifications

• At least three years of professional experience in graphic design, with demonstrated videography and photography skills.
• A portfolio demonstrating print and digital design, including reports, profiles, infographics and social media content, together with edited video and photography work.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects or DaVinci Resolve for video editing and motion graphics.
• Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Canva for photo editing and branded templates.
• Working knowledge of DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lenses, lighting and audio recording equipment.
• Strong understanding of brand guidelines and child safeguarding principles in visual content.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Film Production, Communications or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Motion graphics and animation skills using Adobe After Effects.
• Drone videography and photography skills with a valid KCAA licence.
• Familiarity with Figma or Adobe Express for quick digital layouts.
• Strong creative judgement, attention to detail and the ability to deliver work to brief under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Kenya as required.
