About the Role

The Geologist position is an entry and training grade for the cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer while supporting geological activities related to petroleum, oil and gas projects.

The role involves collecting and compiling petroleum-related geological information, supporting planned geological field surveys, analyzing mapped sedimentary basins and preparing petroleum-related reports and information for relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect petroleum-related geological data for relevant geological activities.
• Compile geological information relating to petroleum activities.
• Assist in executing planned geological field surveys for oil and gas projects.
• Participate in the analysis of mapped sedimentary basins.
• Contribute to the preparation of petroleum-related reports.
• Compile oil and gas information for relevant stakeholders.
• Support petroleum-related geological activities under the guidance of a senior officer.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines from a university recognized in Kenya: Petroleum Geo-Science, Geology, Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Exploration & Production, or Earth Science.
