About the Role

Programme Officer II is an entry and training grade within the social or public service sector. Officers may be deployed in the Social Sector or Public Service Sector, where they support research, data collection, analysis, training, capacity building and information management related to government programmes and public sector reforms.

Key Responsibilities

Social Sector

• Undertake research to support resource mobilization activities.
• Collect and analyze data relating to social sector reforms.
• Collect and collate data for Special Government Initiatives.
• Prepare data collection tools for tracking the institutionalization of Special Government Initiatives in public sector institutions.

Public Service Sector

• Collect, collate and compile data on the implementation of Public Sector Reforms.
• Collect data relating to Business Process Re-engineering (BPR).
• Undertake training and capacity-building activities for Ministries, Departments and Agencies implementing Public Sector Reforms.
• Collect and collate data on thematic areas relating to innovation and incubation of public sector reforms.
• Collect data to support the provision of technical advice to MDAs on Public Sector Reforms.
• Update information in the Central Database for public sector reforms.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields from a university recognized in Kenya: Economics, Economics & Statistics, Planning and Project Management, Political Science/Government, Political Science, Public Administration or Law.
