About the Role

The Petroleum Environmental Analyst II position is an entry and training grade for the cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer while supporting environmental, health and safety activities related to oil and gas operations.

The role involves collecting environmental, health and safety data, maintaining geospatial databases for monitoring activities, supporting audits of petroleum operations and contributing to reports and public awareness initiatives on petroleum-related environmental and safety matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect environmental, health and safety data related to oil and gas activities.
• Compile environmental, health and safety information relating to oil and gas operations.
• Update geospatial databases used for environmental monitoring in oil and gas areas.
• Maintain geospatial databases supporting environmental monitoring activities.
• Participate in environmental, health and safety audits for petroleum operations.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports on oil and gas health, safety and environmental matters.
• Participate in promoting public awareness of petroleum-related environmental and safety issues.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines from a university recognized in Kenya: Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Geology, Environmental and Natural Resources Management, Climate Change, Occupational Health & Safety, Soil Water & Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, or Environmental Planning Management & Policy.
