About Bandari Maritime Academy

Bandari Maritime Academy was established through Legal Notice No. 233 of 28th November 2018. The Academy has a mandate to develop academic and vocational skills and provide competent maritime human resources for a sustainable Blue Economy.

About the Role

The Swimming Instructor will be responsible for training students through swimming lessons and supporting activities at the Academy’s swimming pool facility. The role also involves regular pool maintenance, first aid procedures when necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness around the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Train students through swimming lessons.
• Treat the swimming pool with appropriate chemicals as part of regular maintenance.
• Schedule or perform first aid procedures when necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the swimming pool facility.
• Clean the pool and maintain the surrounding benches and pool desk.
• Ensure proper disposal of trash within the pool facility.
• Undertake other activities related to the facilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in a relevant field.
• Experience in instructing in the relevant field.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Benefits and Compensation

The Swimming Instructor position is offered on permanent and pensionable terms. The basic salary scale is Kshs. 31,000 to Kshs. 63,500 per month, with a house allowance of Kshs. 10,000, commuter allowance of Kshs. 12,000 and annual leave allowance of Kshs. 4,000.
